An experiment in making coaching more accessible
In order to make my coaching services available to as many folks as possible, I have decided to experiment with a sliding scale for payment.
I've carefully considered the following factors to determine my current rates:
the range that coaches currently charge in the US
my training level
the tangible value that I bring to clients
what I need financially to sustain myself and this business
Because this pricing structure is an experiment, let's keep the conversation open and flowing. If you have any questions or uncertainty about what's in this page, email me at tina@seedandstitch.us.
I know it is hard to talk about money—many of us have traumas, taboos, and a lot of shame bound up in this topic. I do not judge or shame clients in any of our discussions about fees, and in return I trust clients to reflect honestly on their financial situation and determine the most equitable and fair amount that they can pay.
Sliding Scale Fee Chart
Standard
$100 per 1-hour session
This represents what I believe to be the full value that I bring at my current experience level
Unlimited spots at this tier
Discount Tier 1 (reduced by ~35%)
$65 per 1-hour session
4 spots at this tier (2 remaining)
Discount Tier 2 (reduced by ~80%)
$20 per 1-hour session
2 spots at this tier (2 remaining)
Pro Bono (free)
1 spot at this tier (0 remaining)
How to Determine Your Tier
I will be adopting the The Green Bottle Method by Worts and Cunning Apothecary:
The Standard Tier is for folks who are best represented by the bottle on the left
Discount Tier 1 is for folks who are best represented by the bottle in the middle
Discount Tier 2 is for folks who are somewhere between the middle and right bottles
Pro Bono is for folks who are best represented by the right bottle
If you don't see yourself represented anywhere on this chart, let's talk! I am also open to discussing special cases such as work trades, discounted rates for students, etc.
The intent of a sliding scale is to reduce financial barriers for coaching, but the downside is it adds complexity. The last thing I want is to replace financial barriers with a psychological barrier. If any of this makes you feel stuck or unsure, get in touch and we can discuss other possibilities.
